What is RSS?
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It is a lightweight XML format designed for sharing headlines and other content.
What is it good for?
If you are a news junkie, RSS is a must. It allows you to continually pull text headlines from a variety of different sources all in one handy place. When you click on a headline in an RSS reader, it then takes you to that story on that site. You can even use RSS to integrate Castanet headlines into your blog.
How do I get started?
First you need to download an RSS reader. There are two types: one that runs as a standalone application, and another that integrates with either your web browser or mail reader. You'll have to decide what you like best. We've listed a few to the right to get you started.
Now what?
After you have installed your RSS reader, you can now subscribe to our RSS feeds. We have provided a variety of feeds for your convenience.
Just click on the orange button to the right to see the feed. If you get a bunch of goobly gook, you don't have an RSS reader installed on your system. You may have to copy and past the URL from the address line in your browser and paste it in to the appropriate field of your RSS Reader.

Soon we'll be providing an XML version of our daily audio newscasts. That will allow you to automatically download our newscasts on your computer, or portable MP3 player like iPod.
